Competitive Gaming or Why I love beating people.

Posted on November 22, 2011

I'm always amazed by the sheer amount of apathy that I have towards my games library. A odd statement I know, because whilst I enjoy gaming, I find myself getting far too bored of my story based games.Once I've completed them, I tend to shelve them for so long and only very rarely return to those (with a few notable exceptions (cue Deus Ex love here)).But Competitive games I return to again and again. League of Legends and Heroes of ...

Stressed? Chill Out!

Posted on January 5, 2011

So looking at today's Daily Post topic, Stress is on the menu it would seem. I foresee hundreds of posts about people posting about how stressed their individual lives are, and how some of the minutiae has finally caught up with them and cracked their sanity enough to feel bad about things. Why? Why do people let themselves feel stressed? It certainly isn't conducive to productivity or work in any way shape or form. Generally speaking it ...

Addictive Working

Posted on January 4, 2011

So I've noticed something else. As per my post of yesterday vis a vi Addictive Writing, I've noticed that this trend towards being unable to write without having an addictive substance in me, extends also towards regular work. It's most distressing to know that Coffee is my power source and if it's ever taken away from me, everything I do will collapse underneath me. It has everything to do with perfume ads, and nothing to do with the perfume itself.Obviously at this time of year, one expects an increase in advertisements for gifts, an upsurge linked to the giving of gifts, and normally as I don't ...

The Predictability of Old Films

Posted on December 30, 2010

Whilst I've been staying with my Mother this Christmas, I have come to a startling realization. I loathe old cinematography. Sure I can say that without it we wouldn't have the films of our day and things would be vastly different, but this doesn't change my overall impression of it, which in a word is crap. But I only find it to be terrible for one reason; it's far too predictable. I honestly sat down with my dear Mother and was able to ...

The Life of a Cynic

Posted on December 30, 2010

It has often been marked to me that I am a very cynical person, which is often bizarre in people of my age. Generally it is regarded that the 20's are a time for people to be bright and optimistic, ready to face the challenges of life. And them you discover the occasional cynic in the masses, those who look at life and prefer to see the reality behind situations.I've often associated such cynicism in myself with a strong desire for ...
